Publication Ethics
Kapuas Raya Journal of Education and Culture (KRJEC) | ISSN: [under registration] | is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by Kapuas Raya Journal in collaboration with the Institut Dayakologi. This statement outlines the ethical standards expected of all parties involved in the publication process of this journal, including authors, editors, editorial board members, reviewers, and the publisher. This publication ethics statement is based on the COPE Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.
Ethical Guidelines for Journal Publication
The publication of an article in the Kapuas Raya Journal of Education and Culture is a vital contribution to the development of a coherent and recognized body of academic knowledge. It reflects the quality of the work by the authors and the institutions that support them. All parties involved in the publication process must uphold the highest ethical standards.
As the publisher, Kapuas Raya Journal, in partnership with the Institut Dayakologi, takes responsibility for overseeing every stage of the publication process seriously and is committed to ensuring that editorial decisions are made independently, without being influenced by commercial or non-academic interests.
Publication Decisions
The journal’s editors are responsible for deciding which articles submitted to the journal should be published. The decision shold be guided by the academic merit of the manuscript, its relevance to the journal’s scope, and its significance to researchers and readers. Editors may consult with reviewers or editorial board members as part of the decision-making process.
Fair Play
Editors evaluate manuscripts based on intellectual content without regard to the author’s race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, nationality, or political philosophy.
Confidentiality
Editors and any editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Editors must not use unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript for their research without the written consent of the author(s).
Duties of Reviewers
Contribution to Editorial Decisions
Peer reviewers assist the editor in making editorial decisions and may also assist the author in improving the manuscript.
Promptness
Any invited reviewer who feels unqualified to review a manuscript or knows that it will be impossible to meet the review deadline should notify the editor immediately.
Confidentiality
All manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. They must not be shown to or discussed with others unless authorized by the editor.
Objectivity
Reviews should be conducted objectively. Reviewers should express their views clearly with supporting arguments. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate.
Acknowledgement of Sources
Reviewers should identify relevant published work that the authors have not cited. Any statement that an observation, derivation, or argument had been previously reported should be accompanied by the relevant citation. A reviewer should also notify the editor of any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under consideration and any other published work.
Disclosure and Conflict of Interest
Reviewers must not use unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript for their research without the author’s consent. They must also refrain from reviewing manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with any of the authors, institutions, or companies connected to the manuscript.
Duties of Authors
Reporting Standards
Authors must provide an accurate account of the work performed and an objective discussion of its significance. The manuscript should contain sufficient detail and references to permit replication of the work.
Data Access and Retention
Authors should be prepared to provide raw data related to the manuscript for editorial review and should be prepared to make the data publicly available if requested.
Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must ensure that they have written entirely original works. If authors have used the work and/or words of others, appropriate citation is required.
Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publications
Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently is unethical and unacceptable.
Acknowledgment of Sources
Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must be given. Authors should cite publications that have influenced the reported work.
Authorship of the Paper
Only individuals who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the research should be listed as authors. All authors should approve the final version of the manuscript and agree to its submission.
Hazards and Human or Animal Subjects
If the research involves chemicals, procedures, or equipment that have unusual hazards, the authors must clearly identify them.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
All authors must disclose any financial or other substantive conflicts of interest that might be construed to influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript. All sources of financial support for the project should be disclosed.
Fundamental Errors in Published Works
When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in their published work, it is their obligation to promptly notify the editor or publisher and cooperate to retract or correct the manuscript.

All works published in the Kapuas Raya Journal of Education and Culture are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0).

Plagiarism Policy
Forms of plagiarism include:

All submitted manuscripts will undergo plagiarism checks using Turnitin/Ithenticate at two stages:

Sanctions
If an author is found to have violated ethical standards by duplicating, fabricating, falsifying, plagiarizing, or publishing the same manuscript in more than one journal, they will be sanctioned with:

Blacklisting from future submissions to the journal.
Retraction and Correction Policy
The Kapuas Raya Journal of Education and Culture is committed to maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record. Changes to published articles may be made through:

Erratum: For correcting errors or omissions that affect the article’s content but not its conclusions.

Retraction: When the article is found to contain major flaws, misconduct, or plagiarism, and is therefore unreliable.
